Love is the flower you've got to let grow.

VALENTINE'S DAY OH-ELEVEN RECAP:

Exchanged gifts early in the mornin' hours of the Official Fourteenth. Jenna made me a huge tupperware's worth of chocolates and other treats. They are amazing and delicious and very, very numerous.

Got up, took shower, got dressed (she wore an adorable vintagey dress of bright colors and floral print, I wore a striped shirt, my nice vest, and a suit jacket; we were quite the stylish pair), headed off to Metro station.

Metro'd to Federal Center, disembarked and walked to the Botanical Gardens.

Had a bench-picnic late lunch overlooking barren but beautiful gardens and an artificial stream under intese skies and the constant force of the wind.

Spent some good time walking around the Conservatory at the B. Gardens, taking pictures of beautiful flowers and plants and generally ooh-ing and ahh-ing. Personal highlights: Lovecraftian cacti, an illegally picked African Daisy, and a very interesting elevator ride.

Walked back to the Metro, Metro'd back to White Flint, disembarked, drove to Bethesda.

Spent about an hour in Barnes and Noble.

Drove to Bacchus of Lebanon, an old-school Fancy Restaurant with some amount of tacky charm and large amounts of delicious mezze dishes. Took our time eating in between great conversation. Free orange pudding for desert, and finished up with Lebanese mint tea.

Drove home talking about how much we love each other and how greatly, unlikely, and unexpectedly amazing our relationship began and has continued to be.

Chatted with my mom for a while, accepted huge amounts of sweets from her.

Tired each other out. Twice.

Decompressed with some TV and chocolates.

The best Valentine's Day I've ever had in my life, hands-down, no contest, head-and-shoulders-above, etc.
